“Thank you ever so much for all you do , not only for my family but so many others as well. Your good deeds don't go unnoticed. A huge thank you especially during this pandemic.”

“I used to be a rubbish cook and fed my kids on the cheapest food! They now eat food they'd never tried before, I've learned to cook and the children are noticeably healthier.”

“Thank you Action Pantry. Thank you so much, your kindness and work has been amazing. The deliveries during the pandemic have been so appreciated and needed and the positive impact you have made to us has helped both our physical and mental health.”

Since trialling a Pantry style food club for local families on a low income at our base in Bath in 2019 it has grown into a service helping around 280 men women and children in Bath and North East Somerset. Action Pantry works by using donated excess food (all within its use by date) this is received through a variety of networks, the largest being FareShare South West. Neighbourly who arrange for food from M&S and Waitrose to be collected several times a week and Morrison’s. From time to time we are given food or finance to buy food from church Harvest Festivals, specific appeals and individuals.

Families are usually referred by a local agency. Once accepted into the club they attend weekly to pick up their food where they have a choice of foods. Fresh meat , dairy, fruit and veg are all available subject to deliveries. Each family pays a membership fee of £3 a week. This covers our delivery and processing costs and helps keep the Pantry sustainable.

Currently, due to the problems of COVID 19 many more families and individuals have been referred. These numbers include well over 150 children
